Frank Lampard praised the performances of Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesar Azpilicueta and Noni Madueke after Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester United on Thursday evening. Chukwuemeka was handed his first start since Lampard took over as caretaker manager, and Lampard said he was impressed by the impact the 19-year-old made in Chelsea’s midfield. He also noted the attitude of Azpilicueta, saying it was ‘fantastic’ in terms of his captaincy and attitude. Lampard said that attitude is ‘70 per cent of the game’ and praised Noni Madueke for his performance as well. Despite the defeat, Lampard was pleased with the performances of Chukwuemeka, Azpilicueta and Madueke and will look to build on that going forward.
