Marouane Fellaini, the former Manchester United midfielder, is now without a club after parting ways with Chinese side Shandong Taishan. Fellaini joined Shandong in 2019 and had a highly successful stint in the Far East.

During his time at Shandong, Fellaini, who is now 35 years old, achieved great success. In 2021, he won the league and cup double with the club. Additionally, Shandong secured the Chinese FA Cup three years in a row from 2020 to 2022, with Fellaini becoming a legendary figure at the club as a result.

Fans have paid tribute to the Belgian midfielder by unveiling tifos in his honor, and Fellaini bid an emotional farewell to the club. In recognition of his contributions, Shandong will hold a ceremony following their match on Saturday to pay tribute to Fellaini.

Looking for a New Team

Initially, Shandong manager Choi Kang-hee suggested that Fellaini was set to retire after leaving the club. However, it appears that he has had a change of heart. According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Fellaini’s agent has denied claims of retirement, and the player is now actively searching for a new team.

Prior to his move to China, Fellaini spent five-and-a-half years at Manchester United, where he made 177 appearances. During his time at United, he played a crucial role in winning the FA Cup in 2016, followed by the Carabao Cup and Europa League titles the following year.

International Career and Everton Stint

In addition to his success at club level, Fellaini also had a notable international career. He earned 87 caps for Belgium before retiring from international football in 2019.

Before joining Manchester United, Fellaini played for Everton, where he became a cult figure known for his iconic afro and goalscoring ability.
