Crystal Palace dealt major blow as Eberechi Eze set for two-month injury layoff
Crystal Palace have been dealt a major blow after it was revealed that winger Eberechi Eze is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. The Englishman had been in impressive form for the Eagles, and was likely to earn a call-up to England’s squad for the autumn internationals against Australia and Italy.
The 22-year-old had been a constant threat throughout Palace’s impressive 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday, and with Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise already out, Eze had taken on the burden of Palace’s creativity.
However, according to widespread reports, Eze has suffered a hamstring strain which could see him miss two months of action. Palace are hopeful that he could return before the end of November, but it would still see him miss crucial fixtures against the likes of Everton, Bournemouth and Luton.
Eze’s Impressive Start to the Season
Eze had made an impressive start to the season for Palace, who have made a solid start to the campaign with 11 points from their first seven matches, winning three, drawing twice and losing twice.
The injury to Eze is a major blow to Roy Hodgson’s side, who will now have to look elsewhere for creativity in the coming weeks and months.
