Chelsea’s Guro Reiten Signs New Contract with Club

Chelsea’s talented midfielder, Guro Reiten, has recently inked a new contract with the club, which includes the option to extend until 2026. The 29-year-old Norwegian player joined Chelsea in 2019 from LSK Kvinner.

Expressing her excitement, Reiten stated, “I’ve spent four incredible years here, and I have cherished every moment. Chelsea feels like my second family, and I have formed strong bonds with my teammates. Both on and off the pitch, I thoroughly enjoy my time here, and there’s no other place I’d rather be.”

Chelsea’s general manager, Paul Green, expressed his delight at securing a new deal for Reiten. He said, “We are extremely pleased to offer Guro a new contract as a reward for her outstanding performances. She is a vital player for us, and we look forward to witnessing her continued success in the coming years.”

Reiten’s Impressive Achievements

Reiten recently concluded her most successful season with Chelsea, contributing significantly to the team’s triumph in both the Women’s Super League and the FA Cup. She scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in the league, earning her recognition at the prestigious Ballon d’Or award ceremony where she finished 19th.

Throughout her tenure at Chelsea, Reiten has consistently achieved success, winning the Women’s Super League in all four seasons, as well as clinching three FA Cups and two League Cups.

Continuity Amidst Managerial Changes

Reiten’s contract renewal comes at a time when Chelsea is undergoing managerial changes. Legendary manager Emma Hayes recently announced her departure from the club to take on the head coach role at the US Women’s National Team. Reiten’s commitment to the club showcases her dedication and loyalty.
