Chelsea Increasing Pressure on Napoli to Sell Victor Osimhen

Chelsea is reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with more frequent approaches over a potential transfer. Osimhen, who played a crucial role in Napoli’s Serie A title win last season, has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Osimhen has continued his impressive form this season, scoring six goals in ten appearances despite facing controversies. Chelsea, along with their Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, were put on red alert after a controversial TikTok post by Osimhen in September.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea considers Osimhen as one of their top targets for 2024 and is eager to take advantage of the ongoing contract negotiations between the player and Napoli. While Napoli is reluctant to sell Osimhen in January, Chelsea is maintaining contact with the club to secure a potential future deal.

Furthermore, Napoli is reportedly seeking to include a release clause in Osimhen’s new contract to strengthen their position. However, Chelsea is actively pursuing the Nigerian striker and is positioning themselves at the front of the line should Napoli decide to sell.

Despite significant investments in new signings, Chelsea is determined to strengthen their forward line. Nicolas Jackson, who was signed for £32 million from Villarreal, has failed to impress with just three goals in 12 appearances. Armando Broja, who recently returned from injury, has also struggled to find the back of the net with only one goal to his name.
