Chelsea Pursuing Strikers Dusan Vlahovic and Elye Wahi in Search for More Firepower

Chelsea Football Club is actively seeking to bolster their squad with additional attacking options. The Blues have already made moves in the transfer market, selling Kai Havertz to Arsenal and with the expected departure of Romelu Lukaku back to Italy. Furthermore, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also likely to leave this summer. In response, Chelsea has acquired Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal. However, the club is not done yet and is now targeting Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Montpellier forward Elye Wahi.

Dusan Vlahovic, who only joined Juventus from Fiorentina in January last year, has already attracted attention from several Premier League clubs. The 23-year-old Serbian striker had an impressive first full season with Juve, scoring 14 goals in all competitions. This has led to speculation about his potential departure from Turin. Arsenal had previously shown interest in Vlahovic, but Juventus managed to secure his signature. Now, Chelsea is reportedly making initial contact with the Italian giants to inquire about the availability of the talented forward. However, Juventus is said to be demanding around £68m for Vlahovic’s services.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is also eyeing young French sensation Elye Wahi from Montpellier. The 20-year-old striker had a breakthrough season in Ligue 1, scoring an impressive 19 goals. This followed his tally of 10 goals in the previous campaign. Wahi’s performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, including Chelsea. While the exact asking price for the France Under-21 international is unknown, it is clear that Montpellier will not let him go easily.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Vlahovic and Wahi is part of their broader strategy to strengthen their attacking options. The club has been linked with other strikers such as Pablo Dybala, Victor Osimhen, and Rasmus Hojlund. Additionally, Chelsea has been actively offloading fringe players this summer. The likes of Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, and Cesar Azpilicueta have all departed or are expected to leave. Christian Pulisic is also set to depart, while Callum Hudson-Odoi, Aubameyang, and Lukaku are all likely to move on as well.

The pursuit of Vlahovic and Wahi highlights Chelsea’s ambition to strengthen their attacking firepower. With Lukaku’s potential departure, the club is keen to find a suitable replacement who can contribute goals consistently. Vlahovic’s impressive goal-scoring record in his first season with Juventus makes him an attractive option. Meanwhile, Wahi’s emergence as a prolific scorer in Ligue 1 has made him a highly sought-after talent.

Chelsea’s pursuit of these strikers also reflects the competitive nature of the Premier League. With clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool consistently challenging for the title, Chelsea understands the importance of having a strong and deep squad. Adding Vlahovic or Wahi to their ranks would provide manager Mauricio Pochettino with more options and flexibility in his attacking lineup.

As the transfer window draws to a close, Chelsea fans eagerly await further developments regarding the potential signings of Dusan Vlahovic and Elye Wahi. The club’s proactive approach in the transfer market indicates their determination to compete at the highest level and challenge for silverware in the upcoming season. With their recent acquisitions and the potential addition of Vlahovic or Wahi, Chelsea aims to strengthen their squad and mount a serious title challenge in the Premier League.
