Andy Carroll Scores Incredible Long-Range Strike for New French Club
Former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has opened his account with new club Amiens in style, scoring an incredible long-range strike over the weekend. The 34-year-old joined the Ligue 2 side on deadline day earlier this summer after triggering a release clause in his short-term contract with Reading.
Carroll’s Move to France
The summer switch was something of a change of pace having spent the entirety of his career in England to that point. Carroll recently told the Daily Mail that the move was motivated by the desire for a “challenge” and that he is enjoying the relative anonymity of living abroad.
He made 58 appearances across his two and a half seasons at Anfield, of which one of those was spent on loan at West Ham in 2012/13.
