Bernardo Silva Hopes to Persuade Benfica Starlet Joao Neves to Join Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has expressed his desire to bring Benfica’s rising star, Joao Neves, to the Etihad Stadium instead of their rival club, Manchester United.
Neves’ Impressive Performance
Neves, a 19-year-old midfielder, has been making waves in the Portuguese league. He stepped up to fill the void left by Enzo Fernandez’s departure to Chelsea and has become a crucial player in Roger Schmidt’s midfield.
Manchester United has been closely monitoring Neves and recently scouted him during a derby victory over Sporting Lisbon, where he scored an injury-time equalizer.
The club is convinced of Neves’ potential, with captain Bruno Fernandes endorsing the move last week.
Silva’s Support for Neves
Bernardo Silva, however, has different plans. During a gala event in Lisbon, Silva expressed his happiness for Neves and other young players making their mark in Benfica and the national team.
Silva believes that players with quality can excel in any league and sees Neves as a promising talent with a bright future ahead of him.
As a City player, Silva hopes to use his influence to convince Neves to join him and Ruben Dias in the blue half of Manchester.
Fernandes’ Desire to Play Alongside Neves
On the other hand, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has also expressed his admiration for Neves. He admitted that he would love the opportunity to play alongside the talented youngster at Old Trafford.
Fernandes believes that Neves is an excellent player and a professional with a bright future, and he wants the best for him regardless of where he goes.
The Battle for Neves
With both Manchester clubs vying for Joao Neves’ signature, it remains to be seen which team he will choose. Benfica, however, has no intention of selling the young star in January and has a significant release clause in his contract.
Only time will tell if Bernardo Silva’s efforts can sway Neves towards Manchester City or if Bruno Fernandes’ charm offensive will convince him to join Manchester United.
