Tonight, Ben Foster, who won eight caps for the England national team, will be taking to the pitch for the World XI team in Soccer Aid at Old Trafford. Reports suggest that Foster is playing for the World XI simply because he wants to take part in the annual charity football game for UNICEF and with David James and Paddy McGuinness occupying the spot between the sticks for England, a place in the World XI squad was Foster’s only hope of playing. Other English natives representing the opposing team include Harry Redknapp, who is part of the England management team this year, and boxer Tommy Fury, whose mother is of Mauritian descent. Foster is delighted to be playing in Soccer Aid after watching the event for several years as a fan and is relishing the opportunity of lining up alongside some of the biggest celebs in the music, acting and online worlds. He has said that it should be fairly easy for him as it is a mix of both his worlds – having played football for the best part of 20 years and having recently jumped into the YouTube world.
