Barcelona to Wear Rolling Stones Logo on Shirts for Clasico Against Real Madrid

Barcelona has announced that they will be wearing shirts featuring the logo of rock band The Rolling Stones for this month’s highly anticipated Clasico match against Real Madrid. This unique collaboration is part of Barcelona’s sponsorship deal with Spotify, their front-of-jersey sponsor.

Traditionally, Barcelona has had Spotify as their main sponsor, with a four-year deal in place since last season. However, last season they took a similar approach and adorned their shirts with hip hop artist Drake’s OVO logo for the Clasico against Real Madrid. Now, they have confirmed that The Rolling Stones’ iconic tongue and lips logo will be displayed on their shirts for the match on October 28.

In addition to the Clasico, the tongue and lips logo will also feature on the front of the women’s jersey for the Liga F game against Sevilla on November 5 at Estadi Johan Cruyff. Barcelona explained that they chose The Rolling Stones’ logo because the band’s latest album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ is set to be released on October 20, marking their first album of original material in 18 years.

The Rolling Stones expressed their excitement about this collaboration, stating, “We’re huge football fans and honored that Spotify has brought our tongue and lips logo to grace the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones’ new ‘Hackney Diamonds’ album. We’ll be cheering on the players on the pitch as well as fans around the world who will be tuning in to watch this iconic match.”

Juli Guiu, Barcelona’s marketing area vice-president, also shared his enthusiasm about the partnership with Spotify, saying, “Yet again our collaboration with Spotify has taken things to the next level. Bringing together two icons – The Rolling Stones logo and the Barca jersey – is a special moment for our fans around the world. Music and football form a special partnership with a long future ahead of them, and we are happy to add another chapter to the story alongside Spotify.”

Currently, Barcelona is ranked third in La Liga after nine matches and is set to face Athletic Bilbao this Sunday. The Clasico match against Real Madrid is highly anticipated by fans worldwide, and the addition of The Rolling Stones’ logo on the shirts is sure to make it even more memorable.

This collaboration between music and football highlights the growing connection between these two industries. Music has always played a significant role in football, with fans chanting and singing songs to support their teams. The partnership between Barcelona, Spotify, and The Rolling Stones showcases the power of music and its ability to unite people from different backgrounds and interests.

As the release of The Rolling Stones’ new album coincides with the Clasico match, it creates a unique opportunity for fans to celebrate both music and football. This collaboration not only benefits Barcelona and Spotify but also provides exposure for The Rolling Stones, allowing them to reach a wider audience through the global fanbase of Barcelona.

The Rolling Stones’ logo is instantly recognizable and has become an iconic symbol in the world of music. By featuring it on their shirts, Barcelona pays homage to the band’s legacy and adds a touch of rock ‘n’ roll to their traditional jersey design.

In conclusion, Barcelona’s decision to wear shirts featuring The Rolling Stones’ logo for the Clasico against Real Madrid is an exciting development that brings together two iconic brands from the worlds of music and football. This collaboration not only adds a unique element to the match but also highlights the strong connection between these two industries. As fans eagerly await the Clasico, they can look forward to seeing their favorite players donning the famous tongue and lips logo, representing both Barcelona and The Rolling Stones in this historic event.
