Arsenal to open talks with Ben White over new long-term deal
Arsenal are keen to tie down defender Ben White to a new long-term deal, despite the fact that he still has three years left on his existing contract. The Englishman joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2021 for a fee of £50million and has since gone from strength to strength, playing both centre-back and right-back for Mikel Arteta.
After recently handing a new deal to star man Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s priority is now to secure Martin Odegaard to fresh terms. The Norwegian is in advanced talks to do so, and is expected to be given a bumper rise on his current £120,000-a-week earnings.
But the Daily Mail report that White is the next in line for a new deal, with talks likely to be opened in the coming weeks. This is despite the fact that White’s deal runs out in 2026, but Arsenal are keen to avoid mistakes of the past by starting talks early.
White is happy to stay at the Emirates and the club expect negotiations to be short. With White’s current form, it’s no surprise that Arsenal are keen to secure his future at the club.
