Arsenal’s Karl Hein Blocked from Loan Move in January
Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper, Karl Hein, has revealed that the club prevented him from leaving on loan in January, despite interest from other clubs. The 21-year-old Estonian has only made one senior appearance for the Gunners this season, in a 3-1 loss to Brighton in the Carabao Cup, where his performance was heavily criticized.
Hein, who has also spent time on loan at Reading, has made four appearances for Arsenal’s U21 team this campaign. Despite not getting much playing time at his club, Hein is Estonia’s No.1 goalkeeper and is gearing up for a crucial Euro 2024 play-off against Poland, with a potential spot at the tournament in Germany on the line.
Speaking to Estonian outlet Delfi, Hein expressed his desire for more playing time but acknowledged his responsibility to help Arsenal. He is excited about the upcoming camp with the national team and sees it as a big opportunity for himself and his country.
Estonia has never qualified for a major international tournament before, and Hein, with 27 caps since his debut in 2020, is eager to make history with his national team. Despite the setback at Arsenal, Hein remains focused on his duties both at the club and on the international stage.
