“Anti-Racism Measures: Ineffective – Richards”

Micah Richards has criticised La Liga for its treatment of Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr, claiming that the league’s anti-racism measures are not working. The former Manchester City defender described La Liga president Javier Tebas as “embarrassing”, after the league failed to take action against the racist abuse directed at Vinicius Jr during a match against Espanyol. Richards said: “It’s embarrassing that La Liga president Javier Tebas hasn’t done anything about it. It shows that the anti-racism measures in place are not working.” Real Madrid have reported the incident to prosecutors as a hate crime.
