Ozil’s Astonishing Body Transformation Leaves Fans in Awe as He Hints at Comeback

Date:

Mesut Ozil, the former Arsenal midfielder, has left fans stunned with his astonishing body transformation, leading to speculation about a potential comeback to football. The 35-year-old retired from professional football in March 2023 and has not played since. However, a recent training video posted by Ozil on Instagram has caused fans to question whether they would even recognize him.

In the video, Ozil can be seen pushing a weighted sledge in the gym, showcasing his completely transformed physique. The Arsenal legend shared the post on social media with the caption “Always stay ready, then you don’t need to get ready,” along with an hourglass emoji, further teasing a potential return to the sport.

Fans and football stars alike have shown their support for Ozil’s incredible transformation. Rio Ferdinand, the Manchester United icon, commented on the video, saying, “Looking strong bro.” Antonio Rudiger, a former Chelsea player, also praised Ozil’s new look, calling him a “beast.” One fan even admitted that they had trouble recognizing the ex-midfielder, stating, “Bro became so buffed I barely recognized him.”

Ozil’s return to football may be sooner than expected, as he has been included on Germany’s draft list for the upcoming Over-35 competition taking place this summer in England. His teammates for the tournament will include former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira and former Schalke forward Kevin Kuriyani.

During his time at Arsenal, Ozil made over 250 appearances in all competitions and won four FA Cups. He joined the club in 2013 from Real Madrid for a fee of £42.5m. In the 2015-16 Premier League season, Ozil provided 19 assists for the Gunners, which still stands as a club record.

After leaving Arsenal, Ozil spent two years at Fenerbache before moving to Istanbul Basaksehir for a short spell. However, he announced his retirement from professional football in March.

Despite his retirement, Ozil’s recent body transformation and his inclusion in Germany’s draft list for the Over-35 competition suggest that fans may see him back on the football field sooner than expected. Whether or not this comeback will materialize remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – Mesut Ozil’s astonishing body transformation has left fans in awe and excited about the possibility of his return to the sport.
