Altay Bayindir Excited About Life at Manchester United Despite Lack of Playing Time
Altay Bayindir, the goalkeeper signed by Manchester United from Fenerbahce last summer, has expressed his positive outlook despite not yet making an appearance for the club. Bayindir was brought in as the backup to Andre Onana, so limited game time was expected. However, even with Onana struggling for form, Bayindir has not been given the opportunity to play in the FA Cup or Carabao Cup by manager Erik ten Hag.
There was hope that Bayindir would finally get his chance to play when Onana left for the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon. However, Onana controversially delayed his departure to participate in United’s fixtures against Wigan and Tottenham. Despite this, Bayindir remains supportive of Onana and values the close bond he shares with his fellow goalkeepers at the club.
Bayindir emphasized the importance of team spirit and positivity among the goalkeepers, stating that they are always fighting for their place on the pitch but also supporting each other. He believes that maintaining a clear heart and a positive attitude is crucial for success. Bayindir is likely to make his debut for Manchester United on January 28th in the FA Cup fourth-round match against Newport County, unless Cameroon gets eliminated from AFCON early.
Bayindir expressed his admiration for the unity and camaraderie within the team, stating that they are like a big family. Despite the challenges of their position as goalkeepers, he believes that as long as they perform well, everyone is okay. They spend time together off the pitch and have a strong bond. Bayindir concluded by saying that they will continue to foster this feeling of togetherness because they are a close-knit group.
