Marco Verratti Set to Join Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain
It seems that the Saudi Pro League is successfully attracting some of the biggest players in Europe with lucrative contracts, and the latest player to make the switch is Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain. The Italian midfielder is reportedly closing in on a deal to sign for Al Hilal, with a three-year contract on the table.
A Quality Midfield Trio
If the transfer goes through, Verratti will join Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at Al Hilal. Both Neves and Milinkovic-Savic have already signed for the Saudi club from Wolves and Lazio respectively. The addition of Verratti would complete a midfield trio that most European clubs would dream of having.
Kylian Mbappe’s Refusal
While Al Hilal has been successful in attracting top talent, their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe seems to have hit a roadblock. Despite offering a staggering deal worth nearly £1 billion, the 24-year-old French forward has refused to speak to the Saudi club. It seems that Al Hilal’s dream of signing Mbappe is dead in the water.
