Jurgen Klopp Receives Positive News Ahead of Liverpool’s Clash with Man City
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received excellent news as his squad prepares for their upcoming match against Manchester City. There are no new injuries among the players, and all 27 members of the squad have been training.
The Reds are set to travel to Manchester this weekend with the hope of securing a rare victory at the Etihad Stadium and overtaking City to claim the top spot in the Premier League.
During the international break, Liverpool’s players had a productive time, with Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott, and Cody Gakpo all scoring goals for their respective national teams. Importantly, there were no new injuries reported, and four players have returned from their previous injuries.
On Thursday, a 27-man squad, including Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Ryan Gravenberch, and Joe Gomez, underwent training at the AXA Training Centre. Conor Bradley, who had been out with a long-term back injury, has also returned to fitness.
The only first-team absentees for Liverpool are Andy Robertson, Thiago, and Stefan Bajcetic. However, South American internationals Nunez, Diaz, Alisson, and Alexis Mac Allister have all returned to Merseyside and are available for selection.
Youngsters Ben Doak, Luke Chambers, and Calum Scanlon, who were named on the bench for Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Brentford before the break, also participated in training.
With the return of senior players, Liverpool’s squad will be considerably stronger for their clash against Manchester City. This should give them the best chance of securing their first league victory at the Etihad Stadium since 2015.
