Xabi Alonso, the 42-year-old former Liverpool midfielder, is a wanted man after his impressive stint at Bayer Leverkusen. Reports in Germany suggest that Alonso’s preference would be to join Bayern Munich ahead of Liverpool this summer. Bayern Munich’s hierarchy have already made Alonso their top target to succeed Thomas Tuchel, who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Sky Germany reports that Alonso is leaning towards a move to Bayern, although it will be difficult to lure him away from Leverkusen as he is focused on winning the possible treble with the club. However, it seems that Alonso is more willing to join Bayern Munich instead of Liverpool at this stage.

Alonso is not motivated to speak about Bayern Munich and is fully focused on Leverkusen.
