Rob McElhenney, the owner of Wrexham, has made a playful attempt to persuade Gareth Bale to come out of retirement. The Welsh footballer retired from the sport earlier this year after representing his country at the World Cup in Qatar. Bale, 33, took time out of his retirement to congratulate McElhenney on Wrexham’s promotion, posting a video message to the owner. McElhenney then posted the clip to his Twitter account, tagging Bale and writing: “Hey @GarethBale11 let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season.” Wrexham have already convinced one former Premier League star, Ben Foster, to come out of retirement this season.
