Wolves are contemplating offers for Adama Traore with the club willing to let him go in order to raise funds for new signings, talkSPORT understands.
The club reportedly value him at £20million and Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly frontrunners to secure the Spanish winger’s services with managing director of football Fabio Paratici said to be a ‘big admirer’.
Traore has been at Molineux since 2018 when he signed from Middlesbrough for £18m.
Since then he has terrorised defences with his exceptional pace and dribbling ability but he has not always shown that talent on a constant basis.
The former Barcelona player faced the embarrasment of being a substituted substitute against Brighton having started the match from the bench and being brought onto the pitch after just 16 minutes.
talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook gave Jim White and Simon Jordan his information and also think he could still flourish at a club like Tottenham who boast world-class players in Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
“Is there a more enigmatic player in the Premier League right now than Traore?” Crook told Jim White.
“I looked at his stats this morning, he’s had the joint most shots in the Premier League without scoring a goal, he’s also completed the most dribbles.
“He has all the attributes to terrorise defences but just can’t finish it off at the business end of the pitch.
“Fabio Paratici, the Tottenham sporting director has been a big admirer since he was at the overlord at Juventus.
“Wolves might well be willing to do business unlike in the summer, £20million is the fee that’s being touted.
“Maybe he might be one of those players who when he goes to a top club and he’s surrounded by players like Harry Kane and Son suddenly that end product that has been lacking in his game falls into place.”
Traore has accumulated 150 appearances for the club but has only scored 10 goals and produced 18 assists.
This season he has featured in 19 games but is yet to have a single goal contribution in all competitions.
