# Aston Villa Manager Unai Emery Praises Side After 1-1 Draw Against Wolves

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery was pleased with his side’s performance after they earned a point against Midlands rivals Wolves in a 1-1 draw. Despite failing to create any golden chances, Emery believes the point was a good one for his side.

The game was a tight affair, with both sides having chances to win the game. Wolves took the lead in the first half through a Raul Jimenez header, but Villa equalised shortly after the break through a Jack Grealish penalty.

## Wolves Take the Lead

Wolves started the game brightly and were rewarded for their efforts in the 33rd minute when Jimenez headed home from close range. The goal came after some good build-up play from Wolves, with Adama Traore and Ruben Neves combining well to create the chance.

Villa had a few chances of their own in the first half, but were unable to find a way past Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

## Villa Equalise From the Spot

Villa started the second half brightly and were rewarded for their efforts when Grealish was brought down in the box by Wolves defender Willy Boly. Grealish stepped up to take the penalty and calmly slotted it past Patricio to level the scores.

Villa had a few more chances to win the game, but were unable to find a way past Patricio. Wolves also had a few chances of their own, but were unable to find a way past Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

## Emery Praises His Side’s Performance

After the game, Emery praised his side’s performance and believes the point was a good one for his side. He said: “I’m pleased with the point. We didn’t create any golden chances, but we defended well and kept our shape. We can take a lot of positives from this game.”

The draw means Villa remain in 14th place in the Premier League table, while Wolves remain in 7th place.
