England can book their place in the knock-out stages of the World Cup with a win against the USA on Friday night.

The Three Lions head into their second group game in high spirits following their resounding 6-2 victory over Iran earlier in the week.

England will start the game as favourites but will be weary of the threat posed by a dangerous American side.

Gareth Southgate’s team know they must be on the top of their game if they are to avoid the same fate as Argentina and Germany, who both suffered surprise defeats in their opening games to Saudi Arabia and Japan respectively.
