While many eyes will be on Liverpool and Real Madrid on Saturday evening, attention will quickly turn to Wembley on Sunday afternoon, as Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest battle it out for promotion.
Fulham and Bournemouth have already confirmed their spots in the top flight by finishing in first and second respectively over the last season, with one last spot up for grabs in the Premier League 2022/23 season
Huddersfield – who were last in the Premier League in 2019 – booked a place in the final after beating Luton Town 2-1 on aggregate, while Nottingham Forest beat Sheffield United in a penalty shootout after the teams were all square after extra time in a tense semi-final.
The wait for a return to the top-flight football has been even longer for Nottingham Forest, who last played in the competition in the 1998/99 season.
