FA Cup third round matches have been fiercely contested across the country this weekend, with several sides having safely progressed to the next stage of the competition.
However, a number of ties ended in deadlock with a replay now required to produce a winner.
Replays are a traditional part of the FA Cup – but arranging them can often prove tricky in an already packed schedule.
Here is when the third round replays will take place in this year’s tournament.
When are the replays for the third round of the FA Cup?
The third round ties that ended as a draw have been scheduled for Tuesday, January 17 and Wednesday, January 18, subject to TV selection.
The all-Premier League clash between Liverpool and Wolves finished 2-2 at Anfield, with the visitors angered that their would-be late winner was ruled out for a controversial offside call.
West Brom scored an injury time equaliser to break National League side Chesterfield’s hearts in the dramatic 3-3 draw in Derbyshire.
Another non-league team, Boreham Wood, earnt a replay after drawing level with League One’s Accrington Stanley with just 12 minutes left on the clock.
Wigan and Luton are also heading for a rematch after the two Championship sides couldn’t be separated at Kenilworth Road.

- West Brom vs Chesterfield – 7.45pm
- Accrington Stanley vs Boreham Wood – 7.45pm
- Wolves vs Liverpool – 7.45pm
- Wigan vs Luton Town – 7.45pm

The TV selection for the replays will be announced once all of the third round ties have been played.
Replays at the third and fourth round stage of the FA Cup had been scrapped for the previous two editions of the competition, due to the fixture congestion caused by the pandemic.
When is the FA Cup fourth round?
The fourth round will be contested between Friday, January 27 and Monday, January 30.
The draw for the fourth round will be held in the build-up to Manchester City vs Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
