This weekend, Manchester United will travel to West Ham in hopes of securing a spot in the Champions League. However, United suffered a devastating loss to Brighton on Thursday night, losing 1-0 due to Alexis Mac Allister’s 99th-minute penalty. West Ham, on the other hand, lost 3-0 to Man City in their midweek game. Despite the loss, United remains in a good position to finish fourth, with Liverpool four points behind them and having played a game more. West Ham, however, is currently in a relegation battle and will be fighting to keep their Premier League futures intact. The Hammers are currently 15th, four points clear of the drop, but with four games left, anything can happen.
The West Ham vs Man Utd game will take place on Sunday, May 7, with a later than usual start time of 7pm BST. The game will be held at the London Stadium. Earlier this season, United beat West Ham 1-0 thanks to Marcus Rashford’s header.
The game will be shown live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 1 HD. Fans can also live stream the action from the BT Sport app, which is available for download onto mobile or tablet devices.
In terms of team news, Kurt Zouma is still out of action for the hosts as he continues to nurse an ankle injury. Vladimir Coufal pulled up in the Man City defeat with a hamstring issue and is a doubt for the game, but his status has yet to be confirmed. Declan Rice missed the City game with illness but could be back to play United. The Red Devils don’t have any fresh injury concerns following their defeat to Brighton. However, Jadon Sancho may get a start ahead of Antony and Tyrell Malacia may slot into the XI once again.
The odds for the game are as follows: West Ham – 12/5, Draw – 13/5, Man Utd – 21/20. (Odds courtesy of Ladbrokes and correct at time of publication.)
