# David Moyes Criticizes West Ham After 4-1 Loss to Aston Villa
West Ham United manager David Moyes was left disappointed after his side’s 4-1 loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. The defeat leaves West Ham in 15th place in the table, and Moyes was critical of his team’s performance, saying they had made wrong choices and failed to take their chances.
The game began with West Ham taking the lead through a goal from Jarrod Bowen in the 15th minute. However, Villa responded quickly with goals from Douglas Luiz and Ollie Watkins before half-time. Luiz added his second of the game in the second half, and Anwar El Ghazi rounded off the scoring for Villa with a fourth goal in the 79th minute.
Moyes was unhappy with his team’s performance, saying: “We made wrong choices and didn’t take our chances. We had some good opportunities but we didn’t take them. We were too open at times and that cost us.”
The defeat was West Ham’s fourth in their last five Premier League games, and Moyes is now under pressure to turn things around. He added: “We have to find a way to get back to winning ways. We have to be better defensively and more clinical in front of goal.”
Villa’s win moves them up to sixth in the table, just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea. Manager Dean Smith was delighted with his side’s performance, saying: “It was a great performance from us. We took our chances and defended well when we had to. We now have a great opportunity to push for a top-four finish.”
The result means that Villa are now unbeaten in their last six Premier League games, and they will be looking to continue their good form when they face Leeds United on Friday.
West Ham, meanwhile, will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face Manchester City on Saturday.
