# West Ham Manager David Moyes Criticizes His Side After 3-1 Defeat to Liverpool
West Ham United manager David Moyes was left disappointed after his side’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. The Hammers gave away two goals in the first half, and Moyes believes that his team were the architects of their own downfall.
## Goals From Salah and Mane Hand Liverpool the Win
Liverpool took the lead in the 17th minute when Mohamed Salah fired home from close range. The Reds then doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Sadio Mane was left unmarked in the box and he made no mistake with his finish.
West Ham pulled a goal back in the second half when Issa Diop headed home from a corner, but Liverpool restored their two-goal advantage when Mane scored his second of the game in the 76th minute.
## Moyes Criticizes His Side’s Performance
After the game, Moyes was left frustrated with his side’s performance and believes that they gave away too many goals. He said: “We gave away two goals in the first half and that was really disappointing. We had a few chances to get back into the game but we didn’t take them and that cost us.”
The defeat leaves West Ham in 16th place in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone. Moyes will be hoping for an improved performance when they take on Crystal Palace next weekend.
