Liverpool are heading to West Ham on Wednesday evening in search of their third consecutive Premier League win. The Reds were not at their best in their 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but still managed to get the job done. The Hammers, on the other hand, are coming off a 4-0 win away to Bournemouth and held Arsenal to a 2-2 draw in their last home game.
We spoke to James Jones (@ByJamesJones), co-host of We Are West Ham Podcast, to get the lowdown on the Hammers’ season, Liverpool’s legacy and a lot more. Jones is happy with West Ham’s season since October, but there are still large sections of the fanbase that want David Moyes gone. He believes West Ham will beat the drop and that Southampton, Nottingham Forest and one of Leeds or Everton will go down. Rice, Bowen and Paqueta have stood out for West Ham this season, while Scamacca has suffered from ongoing injuries and Soucek has been a bit of a passenger.
Jones believes Liverpool will be ‘back’ next season, but that they need to refresh their squad. He predicts that the key battles on Wednesday will be Bowen vs. Andy Robertson and in the midfield between Rice and Paqueta. His prediction for the game is an entertaining 2-2 draw.
