Chris Knoll, known as ‘Knollsy’ among West Ham supporters, has shared his harrowing experience of being attacked by a group of AZ Alkmaar ultras. The incident occurred as Knollsy and other West Ham fans were celebrating the team’s European win. The attack included families of West Ham players and left Knollsy with a black eye. He recounted the incident on talkSPORT, saying that he was doing okay until the sheer number of attackers overwhelmed him. Despite the ordeal, Knollsy has been hailed as a hero by fans and even had an action figure made in his likeness, which sold for £6,000 on eBay. He has also been given tickets to the Europa Conference League final as a reward for his bravery. West Ham will face Fiorentina in Prague, with both clubs allocated just under 5,000 tickets each at the Eden Arena. This will be West Ham’s first European final in 47 years, and a victory would be their third European crown.
