Welcome to this week’s fantasy football strength of schedule rankings! Today, we’ll be discussing “APA,” which stands for Adjusted Points Allowed. APA is a metric that measures the true strength of a team’s schedule by taking into account the strength of their opponents on a positional basis.
Understanding APA:
- APA is a calculation that considers various statistics, metrics, and matchup situations to adjust for opponent strength.
- As the season progresses, these rankings become more accurate and predictive.
- The rankings range from the most favorable matchup (ranked 1) to the least favorable matchup.
- Use these rankings to make difficult start/sit decisions when players have similar value.
- However, it’s important to note that a tough APA for a star player doesn’t necessarily mean you should bench them in favor of a player with a good matchup.
- The “TEAM” refers to the team with the matchup, while “OPP” refers to the team they are facing. The “+/-” indicates the difference from the positional average.
- We won’t be including DST (Defense/Special Teams) rankings since they are highly variable and lack predictive value.
