Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are among big-name stars who’d their contracts compensated up by Arsenal to depart.

“Previously, 80 percent from the squad had individuals characteristics and there wasn’t any chance anybody would purchase them.”
Gunners leaders also compensated off defenders Shkodran Mustafi, Sead Kolasinac and Sokratis to visit.
Technical director Edu described: “They do not have a transfer value and therefore are comfortable on the lengthy contract residing in London.

“So we wanted to wash the squad and when we’d to pay for some to visit, I considered it a good investment.
“It’s much better than getting them blocking the road of some other player. It’s no problem if your player includes a big salary and performs.
“I know it’s strange to visit the board and let them know, ‘Sometimes it’s  better to pay for a person to depart rather than keep them’.
“I understand that hurts and a few people state that it’s costly — but you need to go ahead and take problem out.”
