‘We are hoping for miracles’ – Senegal to use WITCH DOCTORS for Sadio Mane recovery as Bayern Munich star ‘must go’ to World Cup after picking up knock

Sadio Mane will be treated by WITCH DOCTORS as Senegal look to cure his injury ahead of the World Cup.

The Bayern Munich forward sparked fears he could miss the global competition after he limped off in Tuesday’s 6-1 win over Werder Bremen.

Bayern subsequently released a statement where they ruled him out of this weekend’s clash with Schalke.

Senegalese senior executive Fatma Samoura, who is FIFA’s first female Secretary General, says that her country is willing to go to extreme methods to heal Mane.

Samoura has acknowledged that the unorthodox methods may not work, but they have to try in the slim hope that the practice proves successful.

She told Europe 1: “We are going to use witch doctors.

“I don’t know (if they’re effective) but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway.

“We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”

Despite his fibula injury, Mane is set to be included in Senegal’s World Cup squad, which will be announced on Friday.

According to AFP, a source within Senegal’s football federation confirmed that the ex-Liverpool ace will be called upon.

The source stated: “One thing is certain, Sadio Mane will be on the list tomorrow.”

And they also said of Mane: “[He] remains calm, he’s professional, he knows that injury is part of the job.”

Mane fired Senegal into the World Cup after scoring the winning penalty in their play-off against Egypt.

He also scored the winning penalty in the shootout against Egypt which secured Senegal’s first Africa Cup of Nations.

He is Senegal’s all-time top scorer with 34 goals, while he is seven games shy of becoming their record appearance maker.

Since departing Liverpool in the summer, Mane has chipped in with 11 goals and four assists in 23 games in all competitions this campaign.
