And he signed off by playing one final game for the Lisbon giants.

But he didn’t get the fairytale ending as Sporting were beaten 2-0 by Porto in the Portuguese equivalent of the League Cup final.

Porro played the full 90 minutes and crashed the bar with a stunning effort, but he wasn’t able to claim silverware on his final appearance.

And the 23-year-old appeared to be welling up when he waved goodbye to the Sporting fans for the final time.

According to Fabrizio Romano, all the contracts have been signed and a verbal agreement has been reached with Spurs set to pay £39m.
