Arsenal and Barcelona face off tonight in a box office pre-season friendly game in California. Mikel Arteta’s men will be looking for an instant response to the 2-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Premier League rivals Manchester United in New Jersey on Saturday.

The meeting with the Spanish champions represents ideal preparation for the Community Shield game against Manchester City at Wembley next Sunday. Barcelona, meanwhile, were forced to cancel their friendly with Juventus last week following an outbreak of a sickness bug which swept its way through the camp.

As such, tonight’s clash will be the first time they have taken to the pitch in pre-season. Here is everything you need to know about the match, including team news and how to watch on live stream in the UK.

Arsenal vs Barcelona will kick-off on Thursday, July 27 at 3.30am BST. The match will be held at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

Team news

Aside from Oleksandr Zinchenko and Mohamed Elneny, Arteta has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from. Folarin Balogun, who scored 22 goals on loan at Reims last season, trained separately from his team-mates on Monday as transfer speculation over his future at the club continues.

The strength of Barcelona’s starting XI will be dependent on which players have recovered in time from the sickness bug. Xavi was able to oversee a double training session with the majority of his squad on Monday, with the exception of the injured Inigo Martinez.

Ex-Southampton and Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu could be in line to make his debut, as could former Manchester City hero Ilkay Gundogan.
