Minnesota Vikings Bench Josh Dobbs in Favor of Nick Mullens in Win Over Las Vegas Raiders
The Minnesota Vikings made a quarterback change in the fourth quarter of their 3-0 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Josh Dobbs was benched in favor of Nick Mullens.
Dobbs’ Struggles Continue
Dobbs had a challenging game, going 10-of-23 passing for 63 yards with a passer rating of 50.8. Despite his recent struggles, the Vikings decided to start Dobbs this week after a promising start following his trade to Minnesota in late October.
The Vikings have a record of 1-2 with Dobbs as a starter, filling in for the injured Kirk Cousins, and also won a game when he replaced Jaren Hall.
Injuries Impact Both Teams
During the game, Raiders running back Josh Jacobs left with a knee injury in the fourth quarter. Additionally, the Vikings’ Justin Jefferson suffered a chest injury and had to leave the game in the first half.

Vikings’ Offensive Struggles
The Vikings’ offense was the main issue of the game. Despite entering their bye week considering a quarterback change, the team decided to stick with Dobbs. Coach Kevin O’Connell spoke about adapting to Dobbs’ skillset, but the offense’s performance against the Raiders’ defense was lackluster.
Dobbs was sacked five times before being replaced by Mullens in the fourth quarter. Mullens showed promise, completing a 26-yard pass to tight end T.J. Hockenson on his first attempt and effectively moving the ball down the field. However, the victory should not overshadow the offense’s overall struggles throughout most of the game.
