Reports from Italy suggest that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is close to signing a new contract with the club. The new deal will reportedly include a release clause worth at least €130 million (£112m).

Impressive Performance for Napoli

Osimhen, 24, has been in excellent form for Napoli since joining the club in 2020. He has scored an impressive 66 goals in 116 appearances. Last season, he played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title success.

Premier League Interest

Osimhen’s performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Chelsea and Arsenal have reportedly explored the possibility of signing the Nigerian international in the upcoming January transfer window.

New Contract with Napoli

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Osimhen has reached an agreement in principle to extend his contract with Napoli. As part of the new contract, Osimhen will have a release clause ranging from €130m (£112m) to €140m (£120m).

Osimhen’s Decision to Stay in Europe

In a recent podcast appearance, Osimhen revealed that he had turned down an offer to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in the summer. He expressed his desire to continue playing in Europe and stated that he wants to stay at Napoli for now.
