Napoli will be without their star forward Victor Osimhen due to injury when they face AC Milan in the Champions League quarter-final first leg. The Nigerian forward has been instrumental in Napoli’s push for their first Serie A title since 1990, scoring 21 goals. Despite his absence, AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez is confident that Napoli have enough quality to cope.
The two sides met in the league earlier this month, with AC Milan running out 4-0 winners at the Stadio San Paolo. However, AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli believes that this result will not have any bearing on Wednesday’s match. He believes that Napoli will come out with a different approach and that his team must be prepared to make changes accordingly.
Napoli currently sit 16 points clear at the top of Serie A, while AC Milan are fourth, 22 points behind. Both teams will be looking to make it through to the semi-finals and will be hoping that Osimhen’s absence does not prove to be too costly for Napoli.
