Donny van de Beek’s High Wages Could Hinder Move to Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt’s pursuit of Donny van de Beek on loan in January may be hindered by the player’s substantial wages. Despite being the favorites to secure the Manchester United outcast, the German club reportedly cannot afford his monthly salary of around £500,000.
Interest from LaLiga and Top European Clubs
Girona, the current leaders of the Spanish league, are also interested in acquiring Van de Beek. Additionally, even Barcelona and Juventus have been mentioned as potential suitors for the midfielder.
Van de Beek previously revealed that a summer transfer to Real Sociedad fell through at the last minute. However, Eintracht Frankfurt remains confident in their ability to secure the player for the remainder of the season.
Financial Obstacles for Eintracht Frankfurt
Christian Faulk of German outlet Sport Bild has stated that Van de Beek’s annual salary of £6 million is simply too high for the seventh-placed Bundesliga club to afford.
Limited Playing Time at Manchester United
Van de Beek has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter during his three years at Old Trafford. He made only 10 appearances last season and has played just twice this season. Despite being under contract with Manchester United until 2025, both the player and the club agree that a departure would be beneficial for all parties involved.
Potential Departure in January
A temporary exit for Van de Beek in January seems highly likely. The main question surrounding any potential deal is whether it includes an option for Eintracht Frankfurt to buy the midfielder next summer.
