Sadio Mane is loving life as Liverpool’s main man.
The Senegal star has been in sensational form in 2022 having started the year scoring a penalty to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Since his return to Merseyside and the subsequent arrival of Luis Diaz, Mane has flourished as the focal point of Liverpool’s attack.
Mane scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday night which kept the Reds’ Premier League title hopes alive.
And the forward could prove to be the man to keep the club’s quadruple bid on track by firing Liverpool to FA Cup glory this weekend.
“We’ve been talking about it in the dressing room,” Mane told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’ve been asking the boys, ‘When was the last time Liverpool won it?’ I think it was a long time ago. Not only the players, I think all the fans around the world are very excited to win it again.
“Years ago, we won the Premier League, Champions League, so winning the FA Cup will be massive for us, for everyone at the club as well and the fans.”
Mane scored a brace during his last trip to Wembley in the semi-finals and is now up against his favoured opponents Chelsea.
Since moving to Anfield, he has scored six goals against the Blues – with no player netting more often against them during that time.
Two of those have even came in a final before with Mane notching a double in Liverpool’s Super Cup win over Chelsea back in 2019.
He also used Chelsea to end the worst goalscoring drought of his Liverpool career prior to their Premier League meeting in January.

Prior to the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, Mane had not found the net in nine matches but then popped up to give his side the lead nine minutes in!
The 30-year-old has no such issues with confidence this time around having being enjoying the form of his life.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher wrote in The Telegraph: “I may not be able to shadow world-class strikers as much as in my prime, but in Mane’s case an exception can be made.
“Any club trying to lure him from Anfield this summer ought to face a blockade. Mane is my favourite Liverpool player of the Jurgen Klopp era – often underrated and underestimated.
“Since January, the tendency to overlook him while Mohamed Salah grabbed all the attention has slightly changed.
“If Mane continues his current form he may help inspire Liverpool to four trophies, including the FA Cup against Chelsea this weekend. He will also be the Premier League’s most likely winner of the 2022 Ballon d’Or.”
