Unai Emery interested in signing ex-Chelsea player as Aston Villa gear up for European competition.

Date:

Reports suggest that former Arsenal manager Unai Emery is interested in signing Joao Felix for Aston Villa, after Chelsea rejected the chance to make his loan deal permanent. Emery recently led Villa into the Europa Conference League and is keen to strengthen the Premier League side before they return to Europe next season. Felix will not be returning to Chelsea next season, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino telling the club he is not part of his plans at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old has also been linked to Manchester United and Newcastle United. Emery says Villa qualifying for the Europa Conference League is just the first step in the club’s plan to return to the top table of European football.
