Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua could take place on SAME DAY as England’s Qatar 2022 World Cup round-of-16 match

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua could potentially take place on the same day as England’s round-of-16 match at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

AJ has now agreed and accepted all of Fury’s terms for a fight on December 3 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

If this is finalised, it could be preceded just hours earlier by Gareth Southgate’s side in Qatar.

Group B consists of England, USA, Iran and Wales.

Should the Three Lions progress, there are two potential dates for their round-of-16 game.

If England win the group, they will play on Sunday, December 4 – the day after the possible Fury vs Joshua fight.

However, if England finish as runners-up, then they will instead play at 3pm (UK time) on Saturday, December 3.

This would be just a few hours before the potential first bell in Cardiff.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously said that they did not expect him to be ready until December 17 – the day of the third-place play-off in Qatar.

This was the date targeted for AJ’s comeback fight following his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on August 20.

Fury demanded that his rival accept the fight on either November 26 at Wembley or December 3 at the Principality.

In order to make it happen, Joshua has now confirmed he will take the December 3 date.

Hearn also said AJ was intending to negotiate on rematch clause terms offered by Fury.

The Gypsy King put forward an proposal of 60/40 for the December 3 fight, with a rematch clause at 50/50, should Joshua beat him.

Hearn suggested Joshua would deserve 60/40 in his favour if he were to beat Fury and become the champion.

However, the Gypsy King insisted it was 50/50 in the rematch, take it or leave it.

AJ has decided to take it.
