Liverpool gave fans what they needed with a 6-2 victory over Leeds United and three points in the bank. Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah scored two goals in four minutes to give the Reds a rare half-time lead. Diogo Jota ended his 373-day wait for a goal to make it 3-1 before Salah and Jota both scored their second and Darwin Nunez wrapped up the result. Luis Diaz returned to action and Trent Alexander-Arnold continued his inverted full-back role to great effect, earning admiration from fans and pundits alike. Diaz played on the right wing, leading some to question if it was a hint from Klopp about his future role. Gakpo also impressed, with his intelligence and unselfishness on the ball earning him plenty of admirers. Liverpool will be hoping for more of the same when they face Nottingham Forest next.
