Reports from the Netherlands suggest that Xabi Alonso is Tottenham’s top choice for their next manager. The former Real Sociedad B Team and current Bayer Leverkusen manager has impressed since taking charge, leading his team to sixth place in the Bundesliga and the semi-finals of the Europa League. Dutch paper De Telegraaf claims that Alonso is preferred over Feyenoord boss Arne Slot for the Spurs job, with the North London club impressed by his playing career with Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Feyenoord is keen to keep Slot on for another season as they are on the verge of winning the Eredivisie title. Tottenham has also been linked with Julian Nagelsmann, but chairman Daniel Levy has reservations about the German’s age. Other candidates mentioned include Vincent Kompany, Brendan Rodgers, Ange Postecoglou, Luis Enrique, and Roberto De Zerbi.
