Everton are preparing for a pivotal summer both on and off the pitch.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last term, Frank Lampard’s side are entering the transfer market with genuine need to strengthen as they look to avoid being dragged into a basement battle again next term.

Unfortunately with the club under significant financial pressure, the Toffees may have to offload some key players in order to make room for new additions.

Stars such as Andre Gomes, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all been heavily linked with a move away, meaning that additions will be needed.

So who could be heading to Goodison Park this summer? talkSPORT.com takes a look at how Everton could look next term.

Jordan Pickford would have been certain to move on had the Toffees suffered relegation.

Thankfully for supporters, he looks likely to stay put and will be more important than ever if they’re to avoid the struggles of last term.

In defence, Seamus Coleman looks set to have a massive role to play next term as they prepare for a new era – especially if Lampard keeps a back-three.

His best days may be behind him, but Coleman is exactly the sort of character that Lampard will need in his team.

Michael Keane would be alongside him and will be hoping to kick on next term and with better players around him, the hope will be that he’ll have a bit more protection on his side.

James Tarkowski also looks set to line up in the heart of Everton’s defence.

Set to arrive on a free transfer from Burnley, he is exactly the sort of signing that the Toffees will be looking for given their cash restrictions and Yerry Mina’s probabale exit.

A January signing from Rangers, Nathan Patterson is someone with a big future on his hands.

This is the campaign where he’ll be hoping to nail down a spot in Lampard’s side and that could be key in filling a problem position at right wing-back.

While Vitaliy Mykolenko is the current man on the left flank, Everton have been linked with a move for Owen Wijndal.

The 22-year-old from AZ Alkmaar would be a great option to slot in down the left flank and provide competition for the Ukranian.

Moving into midfield, Harry Winks is a player who could be lining up in the blue of Everton.

With Tottenham signing Yves Bissouma, Winks is a player who is now surplus to requirements in north London.

Should the Toffees be able to complete a move, he would undoubtedly be a real hit with his ease on the ball likely to be a big success under Lampard.

Another transfer target is Conor Gallagher, someone that Lampard knows very well from his time at Chelsea.

The midfielder has come on leaps and bounds over the last 12 months or so with a spectacular loan spell with Crystal Palace, and there’s no doubt that the England international would add plenty of goals and assists to the team.

In the attacking third, Anthony Gordon will be hopeful of keeping his spot in the side.

The 21-year-old was one of the few shining lights for Everton last term after nailing down a spot in the starting XI.

With Richarlison looking likely to move on, Everton will be desperate to add quality to their attacking line.

Christian Pulisic is one man who has been linked after struggling for game time with Chelsea, and if a deal can be done, there’s no doubt that this would be a major coup down one of the flanks.

In attack, Everton may need a new number nine with Dominic Calvert-Lewin continuing to be linked with a move away.

Armando Broja showed his quality during a relatively successful loan spell with Southampton last term, but with the attacker looking for a more stable home in which he can excel, a move to Goodison could be perfect as the Toffees look to build their attack around young and vibrant attackers.
