Tottenham are reportedly set to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, with the 57-year-old having emerged as the ‘standout candidate’ following discussions. Postecoglou has enjoyed a successful spell at Celtic since arriving in 2021, leading the Scottish club to consecutive league titles and the domestic treble this season. Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot, Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, who also held multiple talks with Chelsea, were also considered by Spurs.
Postecoglou is currently on a 12-month rolling contract with Celtic, which should ease negotiations with Tottenham. When asked about his future after the Scottish Cup final on Saturday, Postecoglou said: ‘I deserve to enjoy this. I’m not going to miss enjoying this moment.’ An agreement between Spurs and Postecoglou is expected ‘in the coming days’.
