Tony Adams on Arsenal’s Peak, Mikel Arteta in Danger

Date:

Tony Adams has warned that his former club Arsenal ‘have peaked’ and suggested that manager Mikel Arteta could be in danger of losing his job. Adams believes Arteta has ‘massively over-performed’ this season, leading the Gunners to their best top-flight finish since he took over as boss. However, a late collapse saw Arsenal finish the season without a trophy and Adams fears that this could be as good as it gets for them. He does not think the Gunners will sack Arteta and will instead stick with the manager who led them to FA Cup glory in 2019-20. Adams believes that without serious recruitment this summer, it will be a struggle for Arsenal to finish runners-up again next season due to the strength of Manchester City’s B team and other Premier League sides such as Newcastle, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
