Gary Neville randomly ran across Floyd Mayweather while filming on Instagram live in London on Sunday.
The Manchester United legend was in town ahead of his punditry gig covering the Red Devils’ Carabao Cup final clash with Newcastle at Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile the 50-0 boxing icon was relaxing after staging an exhibition fight against Aaron Chalmers at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Neville began his live video for the purpose of making fun of his broadcast colleague Jamie Carragher.
The pair were due to meet in a car outside their hotel at midday to head to the match, but the former Liverpool man got his timings mixed up and thought the meet was supposed to be at 1pm.
As such, he was still in the sauna when Neville finally made contact with him and so Neville went live on Instagram preparing to make fun of him for his lateness when he arrived.
However, events changed direction when a bus driver asked Neville’s driver to move his car in order to make room for an ambitious three-point turn on the narrow road.
As a result, he started to film the bus driver whose ambitious turn was then interrupted by a series of all-black vehicles which parked themselves in the middle of the road.
A woman emerged from one of the cars, recognised Neville and asked him: “You’re a footballer?”
“I used to be,” he replied.
Bizarrely, she was quickly followed by Mayweather, who happily left his cars in the middle of the road for someone else to deal with while he entered the hotel.
“No word of a lie it’s Floyd Mayweather,” Neville reacted.
“Floyd Mayweather’s just walked in past my hotel, he can dump his car anywhere he wants that man.”
When Carragher eventually arrived, Neville was too star-struck to even mock him for his lateness.
Instead he said: “Floyd Mayweather’s girlfriend knows who I am, do you think she’d know who you were?”
The pair then laughed and headed off to the match.
