Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will miss the remainder of the season due to a hip problem that requires surgery. The Spaniard has endured an injury-hit campaign, limiting him to just 14 starts in the Premier League this term, and he missed Sunday’s dramatic 4-3 win against Tottenham at Anfield. Liverpool are already light in midfield and the area is one that Jurgen Klopp plans on strengthening this summer, with moves for Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Alexis Mac Allister all being considered. However, a move for Bellingham has been ruled out due to the figures involved in signing the Dortmund star. Liverpool currently trail fourth-placed Manchester United by seven points, having played a game more than the Red Devils. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
