The ridiculous strength in depth of no.1 ranked Brazil with Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool stars battling for World Cup places alongside Neymar

Brazil are shaping up to be the team to beat at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The group stage draw will finally be made on Friday as anticipation ramps up for the showpiece even that gets underway in November.

While the likes of England, France and Argentina will be among the favourites to lift the trophy, Brazil will likely be the most feared of them all.

Tite’s side breezed through qualification as they did not lose a game and achieved a record-breaking points tally to book their place in Qatar.

It also helped lift them back to no.1 in world football for the first time since 2017.

The five-time winners last won the World Cup in 2002 and will hope to end their 20-year drought and claim a sixth title.

And Brazil’s ridiculous strength in depth could lead them all the way, with Premier League stars littering their team.

Here, talkSPORT.com looks at their embarrassment of riches.

    Goalkeeper

Brazil boast two of the best Premier League goalkeeper’s in their ranks in Alisson Becker and Ederson, of Liverpool and Man City respectively.

Alisson is the man who is first choice at the moment, but they have a more than adequate deputy in Ederson should he be unavailable for whatever reason.

Their third choice is Palmeiras no.1 Weverton, who has more than 600 senior club appearances to his name.

    Defence

At right-back, there is plenty of depth with Danilo, formerly of Man City and now at Juventus, the first choice.

Behind him there is the most decorated club footballer of all time in Dani Alves, while Tottenham’s Emerson Royal can also play there.

In the heart of the defence there are some real talents and experience there.

Thiago Silva has been in sensational form for Chelsea, but will be 38 by the time it starts and this may be the last chance he has to win a world cup.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Marquinhos is the first-choice alongside him, but not far behind them are Gabriel, of Arsenal, and Eder Militao.

Left-back is another position of strength with Juventus star Alex Sando starring with Manchester United’s Alex Telles also vying for a place.

    Midfield

Brazil favour a 4-2-3-1 formation and there is plenty of strength for those two holding midfield players.

Real Madrid star Casemiro provides brilliant experience in there alongside Manchester United’s Fred, who performs well for the national side.

Liverpool’s Fabinho is a pretty good reserve, alongside Bruno Guimaraes, who has recently joined Newcastle, and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.

    Attack

The jewel in the crown for Brazil is their attack, which rivals any at international level and the real issue is how to fit them all in.

Neymar was the star of the show during the qualifies, scoring eight times, while he has Lucas Paqueta behind him as well as Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho.

On the wide left, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr has already played a dozen times for his country and Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has just made his senior debut.

On the right, Raphinha is the star of the show, while the central striker features three more Premier League stars.

Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison are all vying for that No.9 role.
