Carlos Tevez has revealed that his refusal to learn English during his time in the Premier League was due to a “cultural problem” with England and the Falklands War. The former Argentina striker spent seven years in the Premier League, playing for West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City. Tevez claims that if any of his teammates or staff members wanted to speak to him, they would have to do so in Spanish. In an interview with DSportsRadio in Argentina, Tevez said that his uncle’s deployment in the Falklands War in 1982 played heavily on his conscience and led to his “cultural problem” with England.
